About

I take photos quietly. I observe.

My name is André Czernia. I live near Cologne and am an enthusiastic amateur photographer.

I’m interested in street scenes, landscapes, architectural details, and places in transition. For me, photography began with a desire to capture memories. Today, it also serves as a counterpoint to everyday life: slowing down, looking more closely, and making more conscious choices.

I am less interested in the spectacular than in situations where time, use, and change become visible—on streets, along coastlines, in cities, on the fringes, and at transitions.

ShutterOnStreet is my photography project. On this blog, I post photos, writings, and observations—and you can find me on Instagram at @shutteronstreet.
